Why do people hate the things they don't know or people who are different than them? Why the blind hatred?

well Chairman Mao pretty much killed off thirty million people during Great Leap Forward, which i believed made China look bad since no one sees their own ugliness. P.S. US killed off almost all of the Native Americans during the colonies day. They relocated the Japanese and used black slaves since the start of the birth of this country
